Department of Education - Inspectorate Report

In March 2024, the Inspectorate of the Department of Education visited Ballyfinane NS. The department evaluated teaching and learning in the school pertaining to the curriculum area of Mathematics respectively. The children, teachers & staff were all engaged with during the process. Curriculum Evaluation of Mathematics

A standardised test is used to determine a child’s achievement in English reading and maths compared to other children throughout the country at the same class level or age level. The English reading test gives information about how well your child can understand what he/she has read. This does not gather information on your child’s written or spoken English. The maths test finds out how well your child can use numbers for different purposes and solve maths problems. These tests are based on the curriculum.
