The following are excellent resources to further children’s reading and literacy skills at home. The read at home books by CJ Fallon are a wonderful way to reading with your child while developing their literacy, comprehension and phonics skills. It involves reading one page four times a week. The books are structured in different levels from 1st class up. They are also an excellent resource if your child is reading above their age level
Léigh day Bhaile is an excellent resource in developing children’s Irish reading skills at home. Each page focuses on a new theme and it is recommended to read four pages in one week. Difficult Irish words are explained and area for further discussion can be developed through the questioning section.
