Ballyfinane Scholars go straight to University College Cork
The students of Ballyfinane N.S. went straight for U.C.C for a day of exploration and getting a taste of student life. They visited the observatory, enjoyed a guided tour of the university and even graduated on the day! The children viewed their Art which went on display in the Glucksman Gallery following a collaboration the children engaged with through U.C.C. and the Glucksman.
Aistear on Tour - March 2023
What fun we had exploring old and new with our Aistear trip to Killarney! We travelled by jaunting car through the National Park as they did in the olden days. We saw fawn along the way and got to explore Ross Castle and even feed the ducks. After we ventured into The Outlet Centre where we explored all the different types of street furniture inside and out. We even mastered our finances with some shopping. What a busy day!
School Trips 2022
Trip to Glanageenty Woods
The pupils of Ballyfinane NS enjoyed a wonderful trip to Glanageenty Woods for a day out. Afterwards we went to Ballyseedy for some treats. What a fantastic way to finish our school year.
School Tour 2022
We hit the road on Friday June 10th 2022 for an action packed day. Our first stop was at Crag Caves where we ventured underground and into the caves. We learned so much! Next we took off to Platform 22 Café for a round of crazy golf, some playground fun and even some ice-cream. Our final stop of the day was at Wild Encounters Mini Zoo where we were greeted by parrots, ferrets, meercats , turtles, snakes to name but a few!
School Trips 2021
The Children in Ballyfinane NS had two wonderful trips in June 2021. The Junior Room went on a trail to Ballyseedy Woods and had a wonderful scavenger hunt. They had lovely hot chocolates after.
The Senior Room did the Gap of Dunloe Boat trip where they travelled by boat to Lord Brandon’s Cottage. Following a lovely picnic they did an 11km hike through the Black Valley to the Gap of Dunloe. They had a well-earned feast in Kate Kearney’s after with lots of drinks, pizza and chips.
School Tours 2019
Great fun was had at our School Tours in 2019. Our Junior Room had a fantastic day in Muckross Traditional farms, looking at all the animals, old houses and even had time to play a visit to the playground. Our Senior Class had a great day at Star Sailing where they had fun on land and in the water. Check out our videos to see some of the highlights.

A lovely Nature Walk in September 2018. Pupils saw lots of animals and plants.
Milano’s 2018
All the school really enjoyed our Autumn Trip to Milano’s Killarney where they learned how to make pizza in conjunction with our projects on Italy.
